Temporary Visa V (Temporary Employment)

  • Preliminary notes:
  • This visa is issued only with authorization from Ministry of Labour of Brazil. This Authorization must be already arrived to Consular Section through the Ministry of External Relations.

  • The online Application receipt must be printed with its number visible, then presented with one photo and applicant’s signature.
  • A letter of good conduct from Wisma Putra must be included.
  • A Proof of Deposit in HSBC (bank slip) under the name "RENDA CONSULAR" Account No.203-022207-101 must be presented, with the value of RM 400.00 (when applied in person) or RM 480.00 (when processed by third party).
  • Note: The payment is not refundable if the visa is rejected.
 

A Temporary Visa Type V (VITEM-V) is issued to foreign citizens traveling to Brazil:

  • to provide technical assistance to a Brazilian company.
  • to work under contract previously approved by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour.
  • to undertake a temporary employment for the Brazilian Government under a contract resulting from an international agreement in which Brazil is part.
  • to undertake high level scientific and technological research in private or public institutions of education or scientific and technological research under contract approved by the Ministry of Labour.
  • as dependants of a VITEM-V visa holder or applicant.
  • to undertake professional working experience, for no more than one year, immediately after conclusion of an university or technical degree.
  • to undertake work experience as foreign language teachers.
  • to undertake medical residency, for no more than two years, in institution of health or medical school accredited by the .
  • to work or undertake professional training in a Brazilian subsidiary of a foreign company.
  • to work as a voluntary in institution of social or religious assistance for no more than two years.
  • to work aboard foreign ships operating with or without contract in Brazilian territorial waters or as offshore platform worker or back up personnel.

Required Documents

  • Prior authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of Work, obtained in Brazil by the prospective employer or interested institution.
  • Passport valid for a minimum of six months or for the duration of the visa, whichever is longer.
  • Applicants are required to go to this link: SCEDV and fill up the online form.
  • International polio vaccination certificate for children aged between 3 months and 6 years. If for any reason a child cannot be inoculated, a notarized physician's certificate must be submitted.
  • International yellow fever vaccination certificate, if visitor has been to some African or South American countries within three months prior to entering Brazil. Yellow fever vaccination is also recommended for applicants intending to visit some states in Brazil. A list of these countries and states will be provided upon request.
  • Notarized letter of consent signed by father and mother or guardian (proof of guardianship required), for applicants younger than 18 years of age when traveling alone. If traveling with one parent only, notarized letter of consent of the non-accompanying parent is required.

Consular fees

A charge of RM 400.00 is applicable per visa, or RM 480.00 when the application is submitted by an agent or another third party.

Important - All foreign documents must be legalized by the Embassy to be effective in Brazil and must be translated into Portuguese by an accredited translator in Brazil. Applications will only be accepted if all required documentation is presented and fees paid. Visas are valid for arrival in Brazil within 90 days. To stay in Brazil for more than 90 days, VITEM-V holders must register in person at the Department of Federal Police in Brazil within the first 30 days after their arrival.


The Consular section of the Embassy of Brazil in Kuala Lumpur is open to public from Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays) from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

 


IMPORTANT

The Embassy requires a minimum of five (5) working days for the issuance of visas and other documentations upon receiving the complete documentation. Extra time may be needed in some circumstances.

NOTE: A BRAZILIAN VISA IS NOT AN APPLICANT'S RIGHT AND MAY BE DENIED. A VISA DO NOT GUARANTEE BY ITSELF THE RIGHT OF ENTRY OR SOJOURN IN BRAZIL AND MAY BE CANCELLED AT THE BRAZILIAN IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES' DISCRETION.
